New to Titus Farms CSA? Start Here!

Welcome! CSA is a little different from a trip to the grocery store, but we hope it will quickly become part of your weekly routine. This guide covers what you need to know before your first pickup, including customization, veggie credits, what exactly we mean by “Farmer’s Choice,” and how to get your box each time.

Step 1: Find Your CSA Account Info

  • Your Farmigo account, which you created when you signed up, contains information about where to pick, what shares you have, and the date of your first pickup.

  • You can also change your locations and set delivery holds in your account (we’ll talk about that later).

Pro tip: Bookmark this page for easy access. Call it CSA or Veggie Share ;)

When does my membership begin?

Your Farmigo account and confirmation email show your first pickup date. Depending on when you join, your membership may begin the following week, in a few weeks, or a month later.

When it’s veggie time: Your CSA in Three Steps

1

Watch for the store to open

The newsletter comes out on Sundays, and a reminder email is sent out when the store is open for you.

2

Customize and Check Out

Choose your vegetables using your Farmigo credits, then complete checkout before the deadline. Be sure you receive a confirmation email.

3

Pick up your box

Go to your selected pickup site during its scheduled hours and find the box labeled with your name. Grab any Add-On Shares highlighted on the box.

You will receive an email remind during open hours of the store. The available vegetables change each week based on what is ready to harvest, and things can run out depending on availability. Things are also added based on what we harvest.

But remember, customization is optional!

About Customizing Your Share

Store Hours:

If your pickup is Wednesday: Sunday afternoon to Monday at 8:00 PM
If your pickup is Friday or Saturday: all day Wednesday to Thursday at 8:00 PM

How to Customize

  1. Open the Farmigo store, either from a bookmark, the weekly newsletter, or the reminder email.

  2. Add the vegetables you prefer. You can select multiples of each too.

  3. Review your credits and any additional amount owed.

  4. Complete checkout.

  5. Look for your confirmation email. No confirmation email usually means your order was not completed.

A few things to remember:

  • Each checkout replaces your previous order. If you return to make changes, review the entire order and check out again. You can make as many orders as you like when the store is open.

  • Check to make sure you receive a confirmation email. If you didn’t, you may not have “checked out” and finalized your order.

  • If something is in short supply and you remove it from your order, someone else may snatch it up- so use caution when adding or removing things.

How Credits Work in the Farmigo Store

Your CSA share includes a set number of credits to spend during each scheduled pickup week.

Each credit is worth $1, and every available item/veggie has a credit value.

Alternating Week and Monthly Shares receive the same amount as a Standard Share but are simply picked up less frequently. Large Shares are double the amount of credits from a Standard Share.

  • Your available credits will appear when you enter the Farmigo store.

  • Add vegetables until you have used the amount included with your share.

  • Unused credits do not roll over from week to week.

  • You may go over your included credits, but the additional amount is then owed.

    • You can add extra veggies to your share, no problem! That’s why we love this system- if you need a little extra, we want you to be able to get it.

    • The confirmation email will show what you owe for that week

    • Example: If your share includes 30 credits and you select 33 credits of vegetables, you will owe an additional $3 for that week.

Forgot to or Don’t Want to Customize?

No problem. Customization is optional.

You’ll receive Farmer’s Choice!

Every week in the newsletter, we let you know about what’s in abundance and what we’ve selected for the Farmer’s Choice. If you do not customize, we will pack those veggies for you based on your share size and what is available that week.

Farmer’s Choice generally includes a combination of familiar staples, plentiful crops, and vegetables that are only available for a short time.

Farmer’s Choice is not an additional share or fee. It is simply the default veggies included with your membership.

What Veggies are Available?

Our CSA is based on the Michigan growing season and what Mother Nature provides, so the selection changes throughout the summer.

Some crops may be available for several weeks, while others appear only briefly. Weather, crop conditions, and harvest quantities can also affect the selection.

How Pickup Works

  1. Check the pickup location and hours in your Farmigo account.

    • You should also receive an email the day of pickup with information, too.

  2. Arrive during the designated pickup window.

    • Each pickup site is different. Please respect each site’s hours and instructions.

  3. Find the CSA host or farmer who will look for the box labeled with your name.

    • If it’s a busy market or there are multiple people, please be patient.

  4. Read the entire label and make sure it's your box. Add-ons and special items not included in the box may be highlighted.

    • Your CSA host may have those items in a cooler or bag off to the side.

  5. Bring your own bags and transfer your produce out of the box if you don’t want to bring the box back.

  6. Text 517-910-3002 promptly if your box or an item is missing.

  7. Bring your box and any packaging material you want to return the next time and start the process again :)

Psssst- the handbook has information about what to do if you go on vacation or need to skip a week.

You do not need to memorize everything! Watch for your weekly emails, customize before the deadline, and reach out if something does not seem right. We’re glad you’re here.
